I don't have all the answers on Iron Eagle Darts but to date I have seemingly found that the chamber shape is reletivly insensetive to detonation. We have used up to 11.5/1 with Iron Eagles on the dyno and, with everthing set right, seen no detonation on 93 octane. Water temp is something we monitor closely as this has a distinct effect. I feel it should be kept to no more than 170 if 93 octane fuel is to be used at these higher CR's.

Thanks David. I'd like to be below 10.5 compression. I'm using 781 heads now and I'm in Florida so temperature managment is something we pay a lot of attention to. I just see these heads as an good economical alternative to an alloy piece. Based on the combustion chamber photos I'd say the casting would be pretty good.
