FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. (May 19, 2008) –Lance Dewease and the Catoctin Motorsports team will head for Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville, Pa., this week, staying with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series after a disappointing and wet week in Pennsylvania with the Outlaws.
“We weren’t really all that good [at Williams Grove],” Dewease said. “We were just kind of OK.”
In the Outlaws race at Williams Grove, Dewease had “a decent heat and just missed qualifying by one position.” In the B-Main, he started last and raced his way to a fifth-place finish, but only the top four in the heat transferred into the A-Main.
Before the team makes the haul south to the Outlaws race at the Dirt Track at Charlotte, N.C., on Friday evening, Dewease plans to race on Grandview Speedway's third-mile, black clay oval in the track’s “Thunder on the Hill” Sprint Car race on Wednesday night.
“It’s normally a pretty fun place to race on,” Dewease said about Grandview.
After Grandview, the team leaves for Charlotte on Thursday.
“We’re coming in on Friday and leaving Friday night,” said Dewease, who admitted he enjoyed racing on the Dirt Track across the street from Lowe's Motor Speedway.
The team plans to race at Fremont, Ohio, on Saturday with the All-Star Circuit of Champions.
Dewease leads the ASCoC point standings with 1,562 points. Dale Blaney is second with 1,397.
Following the ASCoC races at Fremont, Dewease at the No. 30c Catoctin crew head to Selinsgrove Speedway and Port Royal Speedway for the Keystone Cup races on Sunday and Monday of Memorial Day weekend.
