CONCORD, N.C. (Sept. 5, 2007) -- Chip Ganassi Racing Teams Inc. and Energizer Holdings Inc. executives announced Wednesday a multi-year extension to their long-lasting relationship that covers more than a decade.
Energizer will continue to showcase its brand as a major associate sponsor on the No. 41 Target Dodge driven by Reed Sorenson in the NEXTEL Cup Series and both Target Chip Ganassi Racing entries in the IndyCar Series driven by championship contender and past champion Scott Dixon and 2005 Indianapolis 500 winner and series champion Dan Wheldon, beginning with the 2008 season.
In addition to the sponsorship extension, the No. 40 Dodge driven by David Stremme in the NEXTEL Cup Series will feature a special Energizer paint scheme in the Sept. 8 race at Richmond International Raceway, the Sept. 16 event at New Hampshire International Raceway, and the Sept. 30 race at Kansas Speedway. The paint scheme will highlight not only the Energizer® e2® Lithium brand, but a successful, 12-year partnership between CGR and Energizer.
