DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (June 19, 2008) – The NASCAR Camping World Series West event at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, Wash., has been moved by one week to July 26. The race length also has been changed to 150 laps.
“Sliding the date one week later will help position the event for greater success in the overall Seattle market,” said George Silbermann, NASCAR's managing director of racing operations. “Among other things, the standard race format will reduce the need for full pit crews and other logistics associated with a much longer race while, at the same time, creating an even more-exciting, no-holds-barred show for the fans.”
The Toyota 150 will be part of the track’s traditional Washington 500 race program.
The race, which is the ninth on this year’s schedule, marks the 50th visit by the NASCAR Camping World Series West to the historic fairgrounds track.
