Question about the Elkhart, IN area

I am getting frustrated finding a trailer (looking for a fairly well equipped 24" race car hauler). Last weekend, I drove over 1,000 miles round trip to look at a used one and it was a POS. Wasted time and money, and so on though I did get to see Lexington, KY which looks like a damn nice place! So, I am probably going with a new one. Thing is, I hate to buy anything this expensive sight unseen. It seems like Elkhart is the Mecca for trailer building. My question is this: is the area also chock full of retail dealers where I could actually see and likely find an example to purchase of the different brands? It would be nice to go up there for a day or two, look around, and come back with a trailer. What are the chances of that?
