Nitro Shortage

Racing could soon face a shortage of nitromethane.

China is drag racing's only source for racing grade nitromethane since the Uinted States-based Dow-Angus company ceased racing application production prior to last season.
The Chinese reportedly are going to close down the factories that make nitro and stop shipping it during the months before and during the upcoming Olympics.

NHRA has cancelled practices on NHRA sanctioned tracks.

They could replace the classes with ProMods and would not hurt my feelings one bit.

This came to my attention earlier this month when a friend with a drag boat needed some nitro for blended fuel

Fortunately I was able to hook him up with a model airplane racer (of all things) for a few gallons. He paid the guy $30 a gallon
