Rain Owns Opening Day Of Gatornationals

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (March 14, 2008) – A day-long rain Friday at Gainesville Raceway washed out the opening day of qualifying at the ACDelco NHRA Gatornationals.

Racing is scheduled to resume Saturday with a much better weather forecast. Fans can retain their ticket stub(s) to use toward a ticket purchase for Saturday or Sunday, or use them toward a ticket purchase for next year's event. Each person is responsible for any difference due to price increases, account fees, etc. All sales are final. No refunds. NHRA is not responsible for lost or stolen tickets. Credentials will not be honored.

Reigning NHRA POWERade Top Fuel world champion Tony Schumacher is a two-time and defending Gatornationals titlist, who’ll be gunning for another crown at one of NHRA’s most prestigious events. Ron Capps [Funny Car], Greg Anderson [Pro Stock], and Karen Stoffer [Pro Stock Motorcycle] will also begin to attempt to defend their 2007 race crowns when qualifying kicks off Saturday.
