A Quick Look At Qualifying For The Diamond Hill Plywood 200
- Carl Edwards earned the pole for Friday night's NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Darlington Raceway. Edwards' Scotts Water Smart Ford was clocked at 27.784 seconds, 176.994 mph, on the 1.366-mile track.
- Joining Edwards on the front row is Clint Bowyer in his BB&T Chevrolet. Bowyer's lap of 27.945 seconds, 175.974 mph, was only 0.161 second behind Edwards.
- Tony Stewart's Old Spice Toyota was the quickest for that manufacturer. He recorded a 27.958-second, 175.892-mph lap to grab the third starting position.
- Rounding out the top 10 are: David Stremme, Chevrolet; Kyle Busch, Toyota; Jeff Burton, Chevrolet; Mike Bliss, Chevrolet; Matt Kenseth, Ford; David Ragan, Ford; and Kelly Bires, Ford.
- Leading the Dodge contingent was rookie Bryan Clauson, who was 11th quickest. His Fastenal Dodge was clocked at 28.258 seconds, 174.025 mph.
- Failing to make the grid were Denny Hamlin, who smacked the wall during his qualifying run, and Brett Rowe.
- The race will be televised Friday at 7 p.m. on ESPN2.
