Joey Logano Captures 5th NASCAR Busch East Victory This Season
LOUDON, N.H. (Sept. 14, 2007) -- Teenage rookie sensation Joey Logano won his fifth NASCAR Busch East Series race this season Friday at New Hampshire International Speedway.
Logano, 17, of Middletown, Conn., took the No. 20 Joe Gibbs Driven Chevrolet to his second consecutive victory at the 1.058-mile superspeedway. He also led the most laps in the Aubuchon Hardware 125 presented by Hardwarestore.com, which featured 10 lead changes among six drivers.
Logano took the lead for good with 10 laps to go from Mark McFarland. The two swapped the lead six times, starting on lap 45 of the 125-lap race. Inside the final five laps, McFarland scrapped the wall while battling with Sean Caisse and fell from contention. Logano then held off Caisse for the win. Pole sitter Rogelio Lopez finished third, followed by Peyton Sellers and Jamie Hayes.
Rounding out the top 10, respectively, were Jerry Marquis, Brad Leighton, Ryan Moore, James Buescher, and Eddie MacDonald.
