Hey Mr. Vizard... i have to say, i'm a HUUUUGE fan!! the thing i like about your style of engine development is making amazing horsepower out of absolute junk, or a shoe-string budget. anyone can build a 500hp sbc 350, but to do so on a budget and really plan it out is what proves the haves from the have-nots...
anywho, you spoke in an article about building power yet still making good mileage, 50% increase in power, 40% increase in mileage.
if all my friends were gearheads, i would tell them to join, but unfortuneately i only have one friend who's a true die-hard, and he's much to proud and stubborn to take someone else's advice... he's happier reinventing the wheel...
this all boils down to, how might i tap your brain for this info? i'm building a 350 SBC for my boat (4600lb fishing boat, 24' long.. enclosed cooling) and could obviously use it... boats need as much power as possible.
so far i'm working the oil system for better flow and less drag, 6' connecting rods, hypereutectic pistons (flat), with vortec heads. the exhaust is opened up to a 1.6' diameter and the ports are massaged. i'm looking at a compression of about 9.4:1 static, and will be using a hydraulic roller cam.
something like this should tickle your fancy since you deal with automotive use... boats open up a whole new realm.
all advice is GREATLY appreciated.
