IHRA Rule Changes


5/9/08
p. 38 and 43 Top Sportsman and Top Dragster: (effective, August 1, 2008) A SFI 38.1 Head and Neck Restraint is mandatory on any entry that runs 200 mph or faster.

p. 129 Multiple Classes / Cars: Pro-Am / Sportsman competitors may enter the ET bracket classes at all national events with a second car provided it is not entered in any other classes at the event and this entry makes the competitors class total of 2 entries per event maximum.

p. 115 Roll Bar: Add the words, “or bolted” after welded in the first sentence of the second paragraph of the section.

p. 90 10:00 to 11:49 Protective Clothing: The second sentence should read, A 3.2A-1 jacket minimum on all closed body entries.
p. 126 SFI Specifications: 27.1 Window Net – Add the words “Mesh Design” with the 2 year expiration date.

p. 70 Stock: Ignition System - Replace the last sentence of the section with, all 2 and 3 step wiring must be accepted prior to competition.

p. 111 General Regulations all classes: Ground Clearance - Add the following section: Minimum of 3 inches from front end to centerline of front spindle and 2 inches for the remainder of the car except for the oil pan / diaper, headers and wheelie bars. All entries must be high enough not to interfere with the function of the timing system.

p. 91 13:50 and Slower: Helmet- change SN 95 to SN 90.

p. 41 Top Dragster: Supercharger – The 2nd to last sentence should read as follows: The maximum overdrive on all combinations using a 14-71 supercharger is 32 %.

p. 133 Championship Point System: Professional Classes (Black flag rule): Delete the word “at same event” in section.
