Unhappy Desperate Alonso

I knew Lewis Hamilton was good but boy has he rattled Alonso. Today in qualifying for the Hungarian Grand prix Alonso held up Lewis in the final tyre change before the last attempt at pole position. Lewis was queuing behind Alonso in the McLaren pit for the crucial tyre change. Alonso waited after his pit released him for at least 10 seconds and when Hamilton resumed his challenge he missed the time slot by 4 secs and was unable to attempt a lap for pole position. He had been fastest in the 1st session, fastest in the 2nd session and was favourite for the pole. He will now start alongside Alonso in 2nd spot.
This is a two time World Champion we are talking about and he does that to his team mate to stop him.
Strategy and gamesmanship have always been part of racing but this is a different ball game.
I have always rated Alonso and supported him in arguments with other people who didn't, but not anymore.

If I were Ron Dennis the boss of McLaren I would sack him.
If I were Lewis Hamilton I would take Alonso out at the first bend but we know thiis impressive young man is way better than that.
I will be watching tomorrow's race hoping Alonso gets his come-upance.

After the time Ron Dennis has had with the Ferrari saga this is the last thing he needed.
If you didn't watch the qualifying, Ron Dennis ripped his earphones off, grabbed Alonso's personal coach and marched him down the pit lane to a 'meeting'. He was not a happy bunny.
Watch the race tomorrow it could be fireworks!!

I did not get to see it but i read this.

Rumors suggested Alonso was held by his personal physio Fabrizio Borra, who was counting off the seconds to the Spaniard with his fingers, so making sure Hamilton would not have enough time for one more lap.

Hamilton remarked
"It definitely needs a good explanation,"
"I really don't understand why I was held back. I guess you should ask the team, and I definitely will do when I go back and have the debrief.

You know Alonso is going to be very worried in turn one at the start of the race and will probably end up off track.

Smile What goes around comes around

If you haven't read the latest, Alonso has been penalised and moved back to 6th place. Hamilton will now start from pole position and quite rightly too.

In addition McLaren will not be allowed to score any constructors championship points so the 'offenders' not only jeopardised their own score but the teams as well.

Doesn't matter anyway you just can't keep that Lewis Hamilton down. So Mike how long until Lewis decides to transfer to Cup racing??? Or is that just blasphemy

Dusty - lordy me the lad has only done a handful of F1 races! Let him settle down and win a few championships first before he wanders off to something else new!
Mind you, with the attention defecit of youths today

I feel sorry for Alonso. At the turn of the year he was on a high. New team, World Champion, no Schumacher to contend... and then a baby upstart of a team member has stolen all his thunder. I think if you were in his frustrating position, you'd throw all the toys out of the pram too.

In response to the Mark Martin tribute in the cup section marcuswb made an eye opening comment about a drivers on track actions exposing his off track actions and that is what I see here with Alonzos childish behavior .
