Ryan Newman To Join Wife Krissie, Mopar In NASCAR Foundation Track Walk At Dover

DOVER, Del. (May 25, 2008) – Ryan Newman will join wife Krissie and the couple's dog Mopar for Saturday's NASCAR Foundation Track Walk at Dover International Speedway.

The walk will raise funds for the Ryan Newman Foundation and other members of The NASCAR Foundation Family of Charities.

“I’m so glad that I’ll be able to join Krissie, Mopar and the NASCAR fans for this charity walk in Dover,” Newman said. “The NASCAR Foundation does so much to support all the driver charities, including our Foundation. It’s a great event for the charities and a fun opportunity for fans.”

The NASCAR Foundation Track Walks give fans the opportunity to walk a lap around some of NASCAR's most famous tracks. Not only do walkers experience the track from a different perspective and enjoy the sights and sounds from the racing surface, they also benefit worthy causes through fund raising. Event participants enjoy a kick-off celebration prior to entering the track for their one lap trek. Track Walk participants also have the opportunity to raise funds and awareness for the charitable causes supported by The NASCAR Foundation Track Walks by using the NASCAR Foundation’s online fund raising tools and other fund raising resources. Fans can earn prizes based on the amount of donations they raise.

The Dover International Speedway Track Walk is unique to any other walk The NASCAR Foundation hosts this year. At Dover, fans will have the chance to walk with a representative from their favorite driver or industry-related charity, including the Newmans, Juan Pablo Montoya, Greg Biffle, Martin Truex Jr., Darrell Waltrip, Matt Kenseth, Aric Almirola, SPEED reporter Wendy Venturini and NASCAR celebrity representatives from the Kenny Irwin Jr. Memorial Foundation and the Autism Society of Delaware.

Registration for all walk groups is open. Space is limited in each group, but general registration remains open and can be done at the track prior to the event. The event is scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday, immediately after the Nationwide Series race. At-track registration is Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Registration is located across from Gate 4 at the entrance to the Fan Zone. The walk will kick off at approximately 5:30 p.m. at the SPEED stage. The fee for a person registering at the track is $35 with children 14 and under walking for free with a paying adult.
