TUMS Racing Searches For The Leader Of The Pack At Talladega

PITTSBURGH (April, 23, 2008) – Racing in packs at more than 200 mph is the norm at tracks like Talladega Superspeedway, but TUMS Racing is looking to find the leader of the pack of an entirely different variety this weekend when it hosts the TUMS QuikPak at the QuikZone.

On Saturday, TUMS will host the QuikPak, a tailgate packing challenge at the TUMS “QuikZone” in Talladega Superspeedway's Fan Concourse area. The TUMS QuikPak at the QuikZone will turn packing a picnic basket or tailgate cooler for the race weekend into a head-to-head competition of speed and efficiency. TUMS is embracing the art and science behind quickly packing supplies for the ultimate tailgate experience in conjunction with its primary sponsorship of the No. 40 TUMS QuikPak Dodge Charger driven by Dario Franchitti.

TUMS knows that race weekends are full of food, fun and fast action that can sometimes lead to heartburn and indigestion. With TUMS, there’s no need to pack it up and go home. Just make a pit stop by the TUMS QuikZone for a TUMS QuikPak instant dissolve powder and “Bring it On.”

“Last fall, when I raced in the ARCA series race at Talladega, I was amazed by the number of people tailgating and the miles and miles of campers,” Franchitti said. “To see how people organize and prepare for a weekend of extreme tailgating really amazed me. It must take people days to prepare for an event like Talladega, but now with the TUMS QuikPak at the QuikZone we will all find out who really is the fastest of the fast when it comes to a quick pack challenge for the race weekend.”

Fans can register for the chance to compete in the TUMS QuikPak at the TUMS QuikZone starting at 9 a.m. on Friday. Registration will close at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. Registration cards will be randomly selected, starting at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, until eight eligible participants are present. Once the participants have been selected, they will be placed in a tournament-style bracket where they will face-off in a single elimination competition until a champion is crowned.

The QuikPak at the QuikZone Champion will earn their choice of a TUMS pit tour for two on Sunday morning or a $100 Target Gift Card. The runner-up will receive the top prize not taken by the champion. The four semi-finalists will take home a TUMS Racing cooler gift pack. All participants will receive a TUMS Racing hat autographed by Franchitti and Reed Sorenson.
