Performance head manufacturer Dart is currently designing its cylinder heads using wet flow technology while most working on modifying cylinder heads are using dry flowbenches.
Are we falling behind the times and is it time to convert to wet flow technology? Given like airflow numbers, Dart representatives report better performance with wet flow designed heads over heads designed without the benefit of wet flow testing. This seems to relate at least in part to better air/fuel characteristics in the wet flow designed heads. What potential gains are we missing? |

Circle Track did a good article in their Sept. 2003 edition called, Where Air Goes… or Should.
By Jim McFarland. I can’t find it on their site but I’m not a member so may be why. It talks about using spray dye when flowing heads to represent fuel flow pattern and get an idea of what’s going on. But as David wrote about hear, Six Wet Flow Mistakes if you don’t know what you are looking for then all the equipment in the world is useless.
