Crane Pro-Curve Distributors??
Browsing the Crane site before I came across these pro-curve dizzys.. Thin on the ground here in Australia and no-one has any idea what they are like.. I like the Crane HI-6 Ign. if its as good as those then I might consider one...
Anyone have anything on these?? |

Thanks a lot!!... Now why couldnt I find that article LOL... Looks nearly exactly like the Mallory e-fire or maxfire tho
Looks like a really nice dizzy... I can set the Initial at around 8deg with 20deg mechanical for 28 total and then another 15deg on the vacuum circuit for 43deg and as the throttle is mashed advance goes away ![]() Why didnt anyone think of this sooner!! A 12:1 compression engine with 270deg @50 thou cam could idle at 850-1000 rpm... I was always one of those guys who used to pull off the vacuum advance hose, plug it and run my idle up to 1500rpm. The Distributor Curve Science article is excellent by the way.... Last edited by paulzig; 08-05-2008 at 05:03 AM. |

I have very positive experience with crane's procurve distributor. We use one in our roadracing car. It is very easy and quick to set up for engine. We use also vacuum advance in that race car, why not... I hope Crane will someday add boost retard or fully computer adjustable ignition map.
