Pimary and Collector Sizing Q??

Hey guys, new to this forum and I stumbled upon it by mistake and it seems as there is a lot of great, helpful information to be had here..

Now.. I am in the stages of planning a stroker Windsor/Boss build..

Dart Block 4.125" bore
4.0" stroke crank
6.125" rods
12:1 comp
CHI 225cc 3V heads
Solid cam of around 260/270 @50, .700 lift on 106LSA

Been doing some research on primary and collector size and length.. So, far I've come down to about 1 7/8 with about 30" primary and a 3" collector diameter and 11" collector length.. This does seem fine in 'theory' but considering the weight of the car at 3400lbs and then me in it about 3675lbs (big bastid) I feel as tho somehow I may get choked up with such a small primary, and that maybe a 2" primary with a little bit shorter lenght and larger collector of about 3.5" may be the answer..

Any insights, and data would be greatly appreciated..Thanks

For addtional information Larry Meaux has a program out called PipeMax. It calculates the primary diameters and lengths and the same for the collector. It calculates a host of others things and is well worth the money.

I haven't really used it myself but several people on this forum swear by Pipemax. Here is the address for the website:
