fuel angles in float bowls during cornering..

i have been thinking of this for a while...

during high speed cornering.. do the G forces cause the fuel levels to change enough to lean out the inner cylinders ??????

my thoughts are to take a clear plastic box the size of the float bowl... mount a float in it.. mount it on the dashboard of a car and take it around the track at race speed..

all this with a video camera watching ...

if it fuel level is at a significant angle... can a dyno be tilted to duplicate this.. maybe while it is under load... hydraulic rams or air bags.. with limit screws on the mounting frame of the dyno...

my thoughts... are a slight redesign of holley style race carbs.. with the booster venturis installed at a differnt angle... pointing at the middle instead of straight ahead... this would allow a custom metering block where the main wells are really close together...
this would reduce the amount of level differnces in the main well at least...

it might even give the new metering block room for another idea i have had for a while...

a spring loaded ajustable tension piston that shuts off the fuel flow to the idle circuit during above normal race vacuum readings... ( cornering , when there are usually flames coming out the ends of the exhaust.) this would also increase the fuel economy... how many races have been lost on the last few laps do to running out of gas..

with the ajustable tilt on the dyno one could also see if the pump shooter has the proper sizing ... side to side. to get the best off the corner power...

i know that this is full of basic thoughts.. ... i just don't have access to a dyno that somebody will let me try this out on...

A pure 1G lateral force, 90-degrees to pure vertical G-force (generally 1G when we're just standing around) will force the fuel in the carb bowl to a 45-degree angle. Dave

High banked tracks

Stagger jetting is commonly used on high banked tracks with high cornering forces.

Maintaining equal AFR between cylinders under various conditions is often an exercise in frustration.
