Meineke Car Care Center PTRA Drag Racing heads to Piedmont Dragway May 10

This Saturday, May 10, Piedmont Dragway, home of the original "Big Dog Shootout", will play host to over 150 heads-up entries as the Meineke Car Care Center presents the TCI Heads-Up Super Series. PTRA drag racing is argueably the hottest brand of racing in the Southeast. Top Street racers do it on 28 by 10.5's and the new record is a 4.97 held by Jason Richards driving a leaf spring suspended '68 Camaro sporting a 632 Big Duke engine with two systems. True Street, 5.30 index, 6.00 index, 7.00 index and Pro Tree Eliminator will all be contested with full television coverage coming in early July on commercial station 55 (my 12).
