Did ya'll hear Al passed away March 20th?
Al Hofmann - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hofmann grew up on the East Coast of the United States. He began drag racing in 1968 with a 1955 Chevrolet.[1] After doing some street racing, he realized it was too dangerous and started drag racing at a track. He won the first event that he entered in the C/Gas category.[1] His Chevy was nicknamed "Hang 'Em High" because his wheelstands scraped the car's bumper.
He was the second funny car drag racer to exceed 300 miles per hour (483 km/h) and the thirteenth overall.
I thought He was a Cool Dude.
