A Quick Look At Qualifying For The American Commercial Lines 200

  • Ron Hornaday Jr. earned the 15th pole of his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series career Friday at Atlanta Motor Speedway with a lap of 175.571 mph, 31.577 seconds, in his Chevrolet Silverado.

  • Even though this is Hornaday's first pole this season, it is his second at the 1.54-mile track.

  • Joining Hornaday on the front row is Chad McCumbee, who portrayed a young Dale Earnhardt Jr. in the ESPN movie “3”. McCumbee posted a 31.727-second, 174.741-mph lap in his Chevrolet, which was just 0.150-second off of Hornaday's pole-winning speed.

  • Kyle Busch was the top qualifying Toyota, claiming the third starting position with a 174.735-mph, 31.728-second lap. It was his first top-10 start this season, but his third at Atlanta.

  • Dennis Setzer led the Dodge contingent, claiming the eighth starting position. He recorded a lap of 173.750 mph, 31.908 seconds.

  • Colin Braun was the fastest rookie as well as the quickest Ford, earning the ninth spot on the grid with a 173.652-mph, 31.926-second lap.

  • Everyone who attempted to qualify for the race made the grid.
