I have raced down in the Caribbean, (mostly in Trinidad) in 1988 and extensively (about 14 road races) in 2000. I can tell you from experience as an ex-pro race driver that there seems far more driver talent per capita in the islands than almost anywhere else. Don't believe me? Just check out Lewis Hamilton. His dad is from Grenada and even if he did not (and I don't know one way or the other) drive we should remember that driving talent is very much hereditary.

I strongly believe that the Caribbean community should support their world class talent a little better. It sure would not hurt tourism in the islands.
