Andy,
Mark your tires with chalk in three places. Run car.
If chalk shows on tread bleed a little air and add a little air if chalk is worn off down the sidewall.
An alignment change can improve turn-in but can make car a bit twitchy on the street.
Walking the course is invaluable to your success. Take accurate notes and get down to simulate level you are driving at. Pace off distance between cones to gauge speed requirements. Note everything about the pavement including bumps, texture changes, dirt, rocks, etc.--- Make mental notes of where you will be looking when driving. When you have memorized course sit down and see if you can draw it on a piece of paper. When driving you should not be trying to figure out where course is.
Plan your drive on the course and match it to car characteristics. Does car accelerate better than it brakes? Plan your run with this in mind. Pick fastest line.
My best advice is to look ahead!
Smoothness will get you the best times.
Learn to brake hard and at the right times to conserve speed.
Do not overdrive your tires or your car.
Good luck and have fun!
