The shop I go to just recently flowed some AFR 195 Eliminator heads. They were only taken to .600" lift as that was slightly more than the lift of the cam that would be used. I don't have the exact numbers but they did flow in the low 280's at .600" and the exhaust was over 220 cfm at the same .600". So they are better than advertised as you pointed out.
The motor also performed better than expected. It went into a 1991 Camaro using the stock short block. The cam was changed to the Comp XFI218. The TPI was upgraded with SLP runners and a Edelbrock TPI intake manifold. The car put down about 325rwhp and upwards of 370rwtq. This is with the 700R4 transmission. I thought he did quite well considering the restrictions of the intake system.
