OK guys some short answers here to some good points raised.
First port shapes - these are approaching a nozzel form on highly developed cylinder heads. Prime examples of this are the exhaust ports of cup car engines and the like. We will be covering theoretically optimal ports down the road when I can get to it.
As for coatings these are still a major area of experimentation with some very positive results to be had. Again I just need time to get to writing about my experineces to date testing coatings.
