Building a dual purpose car is a full of compromises, 3500 stall is not a problem
on the street as long as fuel efficiency is not a concern. Getting the engine
into the RPM range instantly is the key to good 1/4 mile ET. Otherwise MPH
will reflect engine performance but ET will be disappointing.
